how many of you top gear fans knew the STIG was michael schumacher?
i just found out on today's show. Shocked

You need to watch more. They lead you to believe it is him, but there is also times that they almost make you think it's a setup and they just want you to think it's him.

It's not Schumi, he just happened to be the guest that show. Most speculation points to it being Ben Collins anyways.

My take, for what it's worth:
Bear in mind that episode of Top Gear was originally aired in June 2009. I reckon that Top Gear asked Ferrari if they could have an FXX to play with. Ferrari's reply was, yes, but the only guy we'll allow to drive it is Michael Schumacher. So, the Top Gear guys reckoned they would have some fun, and 'reveal' Stig's identity!

That is exactly what went through my head when I saw it too. It's just a game they're playing.
